Valentines Day

I waited to have pictures for this post until i got the film camera developed and the pictures on a CD. Andy was actually in Ohio the whole week of Valentines but he was home the weekend before. I had totally not been thinking that it was close to Valentines and Andy had a surprise date planned for us! We went to Cafe Luna downtown on the Saturday night before which is somewhere I had never been but had always wanted to go. It also happened to be the night of Broughton High School Queen of Hearts dance thingy so we were SURROUNDED by them all dressed to the nines in prom dresses and tuxes. It made for an interesting night!

We didn't take any pictures before we left but managed to remember once we got home. Andy picked out this necklace and gave it to me for Christmas!

Our attempt at a self portrait... andy style.
Part of what was confusing me most (maybe on purpose) was that my parents were coming to stay with us after going to a funeral that day. We were supposed to eat dinner with them (so I thought) and so i kept calling my mom trying to figure out where they were cause i was so hungry. When we finally all met back up at our place after dinner, mom and I realized we were wearing opposites! I love my mom =)
Then on Valentines day I got a sweet card in the mail from Andy with some personalized explanations on it which was very cute.

And my mom kept up the tradition of holiday socks! In college, she always sent packages to me and my roomies on holidays with socks festive for the occasion. The fun thing about these is that Birdy is my nickname that my parents have always called me since i was a baby. Actually the card says "Bertie and missing husband" and we just recently realized that my mom and dad have actually been calling me different names for the last 25 years. My mom calls me Bertie and my dad calls me Birdy. Growing up I was never sure which one it actually was but it just never seemed appropriate to ask. Come to find out, my parents didn't even know they were calling me different names!
